Meet SA Woman Member, Alexandra Sim.

Business/Organisation: Alexandra Sim Coaching
Job Role: Leadership & Efficiency Coach

Tell us a bit about you:

I’ve been coaching women for 12+ years and now specialise specifically in leadership development and in implementing efficiency systems within their businesses. We usually do a combination of mindset coaching and strategic coaching, with the main focus on supporting you to streamline your role so that you can do more of what you love and less of the things that are leading to overwhelm and burn out! I have 2 businesses myself (coaching + a brick & mortar service-based business) and live in the Adelaide Hills. I’m a mum to 3, and family is the main reason I’ve streamlined my businesses and help others to do the same (I want to say a big, confident YES to attending sports days, having hot dates with my husband, going on adventures and generally enjoying life together!)

I’ve been an SA Woman member for 6 years (inc. being an SA Woman award winner!) and am proudly a 2024 Woman to Watch. I am a qualified Human Design consultant, am a Clockwork Certified Partner (efficiency coach recognition – the only one in Australia!), have a Bachelor in Health Science (Neuroscience because I love the way the brain works!) and am currently studying a Masters in Business (leadership & entrepreneur focus).

Tell us a bit about your business or organisation/role:

We primarily support female/woman business owners with 0-15 team members in service-based industries. Our number one metric is holidays! As in, we aim to support leaders to take more holidays and to develop a culture of non-emergency business so that they can support their teams to do the same. This is not just random regular holidays… in fact it’s not really about the holiday… it’s about structuring your business to allow for yourself or someone else to step away as needed and for the business to continue to run effectively and efficiently, whilst still growing. We support owners to implement The Clockwork System(TM) as well as develop their leadership qualities based on a strengths-first approach (we bring in Human Design as well as some other personality-based and strengths-based areas).

What region of South Australia are you in?:
Adelaide Hills

Let’s get to know you a little more:

What has been a lesson you learnt in your career or business that has stayed with you?
It’s always about the people – the people around you, the people in your team, the quality of your relationships. These are the things that we can always improve on and these are the things that truly determine our leadership capabilities and success. Support matters – surround yourself with the people who support who you want to be (and are), and equally honour who those people are at the same time.

What is your favourite place in South Australia to visit?
The Adelaide Hills in Autumn! Followed closely by one of Adelaide’s many stunning beaches.

Why is being part of SA Woman important to you?
I feel proud to be part of something bigger than my business and proud of the women standing beside me. SA Woman recognises belonging whilst also acknowledging uniqueness, therefore showcasing what hundreds of South Australian women in business have to offer. SA Woman is a leading organisation… and I love humble, integrity-filled leadership!

What is a quote or mantra you live by?
When we sacrifice our own well-being in the hopes that our sacrifice will help someone else, we just get two people who are living sub-optimal lives (Kate Northrup)
