With a tenacious spirit and unwavering resilience in my life, I pride myself on striving constantly to be a beacon of hope and empowerment for women over 50. Having defied the odds of a terminal medical prognosis and broken free from a domestic abuse relationship, I have emerged as a force to be reckoned with—a multifaceted individual thriving as an author, speaker, media commentator, entrepreneur, and lover of life. As a seasoned publisher and passionate podcaster, I utilise these platforms to illuminate the stories of extraordinary women around the globe, inspiring my audience to reach new heights. My mission as an “inpatient free radical” is to collaborate with women over 50 , fostering a community dedicated to reigniting and revitalizing our lives collectively.

Beyond my media ventures, I offer invaluable consultancy services to businesses seeking to develop products and services tailored to enhance the lives of women in this demographic. Additionally, I am a dynamic speaker and personal development trainer for over 30 years, sharing my wealth of knowledge and experience to empower individuals to embrace abundance and joy in every aspect of their lives. With a relentless dedication to my mission and a contagious zest for life, I continue to lead by example, guiding women on pathways to rediscover their resilience, reignite their passions, and create lives filled with abundance and joy.

// Let’s get to know you
As a woman over 50 returning to Australia after the sudden loss of the Father of my children, having to leave the USA and my role as Vice President of an International Health Company, I discovered that restarting in my home town after having been away for so long wasn’t easy. Whilst I had achieved great results throughout my career both interstate and overseas including National Sales Director of a Publishing Company; Director of Sales Murdoch Magazines; CEO of LEC International and more, it was clear that reestablishing was the goal. I already had my qualifications of Bachelor Marketing & Business however embarked on study in the health field and became a qualified Naturopath, Homeopath & Aromatherapist – not to practice however merely to have the knowledge in these fields to enhance my professional career corporately in the natural medicine field. As a direct result of this I launched my own business in the health industry which assisted with increasing my network and resources in Australia. Following a terminal prognosis in 2012 I utilised this knowledge and my extensive network to create protocals which assisted in my 100% cure and reversal.

As a result of identifying a gap in the market for community lead opportunities for women over 50 I launched an online and offline business for this demographic which then also morphed into a higher vision following my public ‘fleeing’ from domestic abuse. Utilising all of my business and public speaking skills along with my skills as an author, I have subsequently written books for women over 50 and was invited to be a Member of the Government Taskforce for Housing Security for Older Women. I am also constantly now speaking at events and in the media on these issues and define my ole as a passionate, impatient ‘free radical’ seeking positive change for women over 50.

// What makes you a Woman to Watch for 2024?
I am focused on ‘watering the seed’ of my lifetime mission project which will be launched later this year.

What sets me apart as a woman to watch in 2024 is a difficult question to answer for as I know so many women that are achieving extraordinary things…it’s hard for me to answer however, I would say my unwavering commitment to driving positive change and empowerment for women over 50, particularly those who have endured the trauma of domestic abuse is one thing. My unique blend of personal experience, professional expertise, and passionate advocacy makes me a formidable force in the fight for gender equality and social justice.

My dedication to shedding light on the often overlooked challenges faced by women in this demographic, coupled with my ability to offer tangible support, guidance, and hope, distinguishes me as a woman of inspiration and resilience. Through my speaking engagements, advocacy work, and media platforms, I work constantly to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced and empower them to reclaim their strength and agency.

In a world where the voices of women over 50, especially survivors of domestic abuse, are frequently marginalised, I proudly stand as a powerful advocate and ally. My tireless efforts to uplift and empower others, coupled with my infectious passion for creating positive change, potentially makes me a woman to watch in 2024 and beyond.

// What is your goal or intention for the year ahead? And how are you going to achieve it?
The coming year is loaded up for sure! Expanding my advocacy and support efforts for women over 50, particularly survivors of domestic abuse is a priority and I plan on doing this by launching new initiatives, campaigns, and support programs aimed at providing resources, guidance and empowerment. I’m going to be Increasing my visibility and impact through speaking engagements, media appearances and collaborations with like-minded organisations or influencers, amplifying my message for women over 50 of resilience, empowerment, and positive change.

As I am currently writing my latest book, (my last book – This Time Next Year…Your Guidebook to Life Freedom was published November 2023) I will be continuing to publish compelling content, whether through books, articles, podcasts, or other media, that shares my personal journey, insights, and expertise, inspiring and empowering women around the world. Strengthening my consultancy work with businesses to develop products and services that cater to the needs and aspirations of women over 50, aligning with my mission to enhance their lives and well-being including national corporations.

I will be continuing to foster meaningful collaborations and partnerships with individuals, organisations and stakeholders who share my vision and values, leveraging collective efforts to hopefully drive systemic change and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women of all ages. As always, I will be prioritising self-care and personal growth to ensure I have the energy, resilience and passion to continue my advocacy work effectively, while also nurturing my own well-being and fulfilment. My aspirations for the coming 12 months are centred around furthering my mission to empower women over 50, advocating for positive change and making a lasting impact on the lives of others.

// What would being a Woman to Watch mean to you?
Being acknowledged as a ‘Woman to Watch in 2024’ would be a message to myself that what I am doing is right. It would mean that my mission for others is the correct life path for me…despite all of the challenges in life I have endured. it would mean that, as a South Australian born and bred woman who left to follow her dreams…and then came back home, any woman at any age can achieve anything.

// What would you like to see for the future of South Australian women and girls?
South Australian women and girls are in desperate need of clarity. Clarity for what life opportunities there are actually for them and how they can access them. Clarity of their self worth and self esteem and understanding of the importance of communication skills and how that can be an enormous lever for their lives to be abundant on all levels. I would like to see education expanded in schools to include lessons on personal growth and development and entrepreneuralism. I would like to see more collaboration between older women and our younger generation to create better plans and visions for the future.

As women in South Australia we need to be more aware of what is happening her in our home state. Be more informed, identify gaps and become more vocal and take action to create the solutions now.
