Hi, my name is Christine and I’m a big believer that you should do what you love, and what you’re good at in every moment of the day – and I’m that epic human that kinda loves all things Admin!! Where others cringe at the thought of organisation, automation, and processes – I sit there and smile like the Cheshire cat grinning at Alice.
Who I am? Well, I am the one who is happy to sit solo embracing my own company but can also be found as the life of the party, the one who curls up with a good book, watching a movie or geeking out playing games, or I could be out exploring and creating memories. Always the ever-optimistic bubbly one in the room you will always get positive vibes from me. It may be my love of Disney but there is nothing better in another human than genuine happiness and kindness and it’s what I wake up and choose to be every morning.
I started Send It On to enable people to send on the tasks that they don’t have time for, don’t know how to do very well, or just don’t like doing. Working virtually, I can support businesses anywhere in the country. Nothing is worse than trying to do something that doesn’t bring you joy – and in business, there can be a lot of those – so why make yourself suffer?
Working in Administration has been my entire working life – most roles have had a strong element of customer service (**I am a big cheerleader on the customer service experience being memorable), with roles that span multiple different sectors, the skill set I have developed and crafted over the years is highly transferrable.
// What do you love most about your role?
I love being able to relieve some burden off a busy business owner – to give them back time to focus on more important things or to just implement some structure to make a task easier – it is just a joyful feeling. Being in administration you are often that secret weapon who can easily go unrecognised but secretly you know everything would fall apart without …. there is happiness in that knowledge 😀
// What were you doing prior to your business and why did you get started?
I have worked in Customer Service roles across the hospitality industry in Admin roles since I was 15 years old. I have been in a Senior Client Support Specialist role for the last 4 years within Contract Catering in the Supply Chain space for the world’s largest catering and hospitality company – supporting 200+ client locations and literally being the meat in the sandwich dealing with clients’ problems all day every day to find solutions.
I have always felt destined for bigger things, not just exchanging my time for someone else, and I didn’t want to feel forced to return to employment when/if I decided to start a family – I wanted to have control over my future so I embarked on creating a better future. It is also something that I an build to support my dream of travelling this incredible country.
// What has been your biggest hurdle?
The biggest hurdle in my own business has been myself. Moving through blocks that I have put up in my own brain. That constant negative lizard brain telling me I couldn’t do it and finding my inner diva to know that I can.
// Lets talk South Australia, What do you love most about working here?
I am originally from NZ, I moved to Australia in July 2008 and have lived and worked on Hamilton Island for a nunmber of years, before moving to Brisbane and then Melbourne before Adelaide. I absolutely love Adelaide, it reminds me of home. The people are friendly, the state is beautiful and you can go from beach to hills in just a short drive.
// What advice would you give other women wanting to start a business?
It will never be the perfect time, the perfect idea or the perfect process. But you shouldn’t let that stop you from taking that first imperfect step.
