After 20+ years in accounts and administration I decided to start my own business as a Virtual Assistant (can also go to clients within metro area if required) doing what I have always done and enjoyed.
// What were you doing prior to your business and why did you get started?
I was working for a manufacturing company full-time in administration and accounts. I enjoyed the work but did not enjoy the workplace and the mundane 9-5. I decided to get started on my own, so I can have flexibility while still doing what I enjoy for a variety of different people and industries.
// What do you love most about being in business?
I love the flexibility and the variety of work I can do, with so many different people from all ways of life.
// Who has supported you the most on your business/career journey?
My husband and girlfriend Dianne of TopKnot management have been my biggest supporters and encouraged me to go out on my own. If it wasn’t for them, I would probably still be unhappy in my job.
// Do you have a fave place to spend summer/go to for coffee/ go to to relax/ go to for food?
My family love the beach and every summer we try to get away to York Peninsula with friends and enjoy the sun and the beautiful beaches.
// What advice would you give other women wanting to start a business?
I am only very new to this but my advice would be to be consistent and be patient.
