Boobook’s Books & BAS is a Bookkeeping business that I started in 2017. I offer all General Bookkeeping, BAS & PAYG Services, Financial Reporting and more. Located in Trinity Gardens, I have clients spread from Seaford in the South to Salisbury in the North, and I work both remotely and on-site depending on the needs of the client.

I love being in business for myself as I can choose the hours that I work and am able to juggle other facets of life so no one misses out! I have time for everyone…Clients, family and my sons! And of course my husband!

Prior to starting my business, I spent around 30 years in the Hospitality Industry, eventually working in the Management of restaurants. This work involved lots of Admin and Bookkeeping, as well as being a presence Front of House. As I approached the age of 50 I decided that the long hours and weekend work were just too much, but I loved the Admin side. I made a leap and left my job to study Accounting. Once completed, I became accredited as a BAS Agent and opened up for business!

My husband has been my biggest supporter in my business journey…he is one very patient gent offering brilliant advice along the way!

Having spent a great deal of time in the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Wine Regions during my Hospitality days, I love to spend my leisure time trying new places to eat and new Cellar Doors…my favourite Cellar Door is “Alpha Box & Dice” and favourite bistro “Terre”, but I am always keen to try new places and have recently discovered “28th St Distillery” in Renmark.

The best advice I can give to women starting their own business is “Just do it”, believe in yourself…and create your own idea of “Success”…not everyone wants to have a huge business, some of us just want to be independent and happy!
