I run Vida Yoga offering slow mindful yoga classes. I started the studio in 2009 and until COVID 19 was based in the Seacliff Uniting Church Hall. Now I run a hybrid of online and in-person classes – all designed .

// What do you love most about being in business?

I love being about to share what I am passionate about in a way that feels natural and authentic to me. I am always learning so I love how I can continue to pass on new information and inspiration to my students to keep us all motivated.

// What are you most proud of?

I am proud of transitioning to online classes once all studios had to close due to COVID 19. I never would have made that leap otherwise and I’m truly grateful for those that have encouraged and supported me with that transition.

// Who has supported you the most on your business journey?

My husband Aloysius is no doubt my biggest support. He helps me with a lot of IT related parts of the business as well as always encouraging me to follow my dreams.

// Let’s talk SA …

We love to take short breaks as a family and stay in Goolwa. The kids love the playgrounds by the river and of course we spend lots of time at the beach. It is far enough away to take our minds off of work but close enough to be able to visit regularly.

// What is the best advice you have received that has stuck with you?

One of my teachers said to me when I first started my business that I had to believe that I had something to share and offer that was valuable and that’s all that matters. I often remember this and I always remember that I truly believe that what I offer through slow mindful yoga is so beneficial in our fast paced lives. The comments that students share with me after classes helps affirm that I am continuing to do this.

// Share with us a quote or mantra you live by…

There is a saying that we often say in flamenco dance (my other passion) “poco a poco” this means “little by little.” Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the amount of tasks there are to do I remember to take it one step at a time, take a deep breath and just do the best I can.
