I work for Bumper Leads – a boutique Marketing Automation Agency helping small businesses attract and retain customers. We specialise in lead generation and customer retention.

Our focus is on eCommerce businesses, however, we have experience working with accountants, bookkeepers, coaches, bloggers and even fashion stylists to grow their businesses with marketing automation.

Bumper Leads was started by my evil twin sister Jovana in Melbourne in 2016. I too, lived in Melbourne but have “recently” moved to Adelaide – been here almost 3 years! I’m here to expand Bumper Leads and help SA businesses bump up their leads and sales 🙂

We’re also ActiveCampaign and Ontraport certified.

In addition to helping Bumper Leads, I also have a side hustle… I run a successful podcast for English learners that’s been downloaded over 700,000 times since I started it 4 years ago.

I launched it as a way of keeping in touch with my students from Chile – I lived in South America for 2 years. It has also been featured in iTunes next to Tony Robbins and BBC Grammar. The podcast is called The English Made Simple Podcast and it’s my baby. I’m now excited to coach other business owners in launching their own podcasts to help them attract more of their ideal customer.

// What do you love most about being in business?

What I love most about being in business is not having to set my alarm every morning.
And also, being able to have a Chief Happiness Officer who is a cat. Her name is Samantha.

// What were you doing prior to your business and why did you get started?

Together with Jovana, we tried a few ventures in the past. These ventures were our life lessons in business. Jovana and I started a skincare business in 2008 called Dué Sorelle which was our stepping stone to the business world.

Fast-forward to 2013, we decided to buy an established business instead of starting one from scratch! This time, it was in the beverage industry – think spirits and cocktails: tequila, cachaca (it’s a brandy from Brazil) and triple secs. Neither of us liked to drink spirits yet we were distributing liquor wholesale to bars and restaurants.

We decided to improve the business by rebranding, adding our own personality to it, introducing online shopping and marketing automation to help us find more customers and save time. A couple of years later, we sold it for a profit to someone who had a passion in distributing alcohol and was able to expand it even further.

// What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of the journey I had to get me to where I am now. I’m proud to have a home in the beautiful Henley Beach. I’m proud I have a husband who supports what I do (and who puts up with my nagging and complaining haha)

// Do you have a fave place to spend summer/go to for coffee/ go to to relax/ go to for food?

Coming from Melbourne, my husband and I made it a mission to find the best brunch place in Adelaide. And we found it. It’s in Adelaide CBD, Carrington Street a place called Arbour Kitchen.

// What advice would you give other women wanting to start a business?

On starting your own business: You’ve got to be resilient. Have a mind of a scientist. Test everything in your business and never stop testing. Try different strategies to help you find one offer that converts. And that is the holy grail of marketing.

// What is the best advice you have received that has stuck with you?

T. Harv Eker’s book “Secrets of The Millionaire Mind” – Paraphrasing this quote by T Harv Eker on fear and mindset:

We are the only beings that could hurt ourselves by our own thoughts.

So, whenever I feel doubt setting in, I think about this quote by T Harv Eker because it reminds me that what I’m feeling is normal. It’s just my body trying to protect me from uncertainty.
