I work with a wonderful Team of Property Managers at Rental Property Network in a unique business model which promotes high wages and a flexible lifestyle. Collectively we have over 150 years experience and the company promotes a harmonious Work/Life Balance for all.

We value the relationship our Property Managers have with our landlords and tenants and constantly strive to improve it. Our system provides a positive life balance for families and working mum’s and dad’s who love Property Management but who are not able to fit into the traditional working environment. At the same time this system provides an incredible opportunity in terms of retirement planning.

// Why did you decide to go into business?



Rental Property Network was created because Property Managers have been poorly paid and in many cases also poorly treated for decades.

I believe that the role Property Managers have in real estate is equally as important as sales, and yet this is not reflected in office culture or remuneration.

We’ve managed to create a system where culture is number one. We don’t employ new team members without existing members sponsoring them in which helps keep the culture of the group intact.

We are able to support Mums and Dad’s in the workplace where they are skilled in the role but can not operate in a normal business structure.

Complete flexibility, and more than double the Award makes me so proud to lead this team.

// What are you most proud of?

The Rental Property Network concept. The way in which our culture shows that we really care about each and every one of our team.

I know that as a Property Manager there is nothing better in the market in terms of flexibility, income, and a true mister or sisterhood.

My entire role is based on providing a safe, productive, happy, progressive business environment for the team.

// What do you love most about working for yourself?

I love the flexibility. My husband has been extremely ill for a number of years and I can attend all his appointments. I don’t ever have to miss a netball game, or football training, or a Sports Day. I can be there at any time for my children.

I’ve also learnt that getting up early and getting half a days work done before most people even arrive at work helps me structure my time. That’s a choice I can make because I set my own hours.

// Lets talk South Australia, What do you love most about doing business here?

I’m South Australian born and raised. I’ve lived in most other states but always came back here. For this business model it’s the perfect training ground. It remains a conservative market so I’ve always believed if startups can operate here then they can easily promote interstate. That’s our goal; to be National within the next five years.

// 

What advice would you give other women wanting to start a business?



Do it! The worst thing that can happen is you fail! That’s it, that’s the absolute worst thing. But imagine your world if you succeed.

If you don’t give it a go, you’ll never know so try, be frugal, network, and let everyone know what you do.

I meet so many people who are lovely but didn’t tell me for two years that they were social media experts or were fitness experts. If you don’t share what you do you can’t gain new customers, so share and share some more.

// Share with us a quote or mantra you live by…

I have so many quotes that I use but ‘Never Give Up’ is my mantra.

When you have had as many set backs as I have it kind of has to be, and yet, here I am, changing the face of Property Management in this country.

Dozens of people told me this would not work, and I’ve had plenty of setbacks but we have a team culture that is almost unbelievable. I certainly would not have believed it possible unless I was part of it.
