SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW?——
The SA Woman Awards are here to recognise the contribution women are making in South Australia, in our economy, in our communities and in our families. You are part of a huge role that helps make our state great and that deserves to be cheered about!
We want you to celebrate your achievement and nomination and have created this graphic so your followers, family and friends can celebrate with you! To celebrate and spread the word on social media about your achievement, you can download your award graphic HERE.
There is some information below on how the awards will work for 2021.
THE NEXT STEPS….
1. CELEBRATE
Tell the world about your business and your nomination. You can use the graphic HERE on your social media.
Don’t forget to tag us- @sawomanaustralia and use hashtags #SAWomanAwards2021 and #sawomanaustralia
2. NOMINATE
We are all about celebrating women in business in all industries and regions. So why not nominate someone you know? Nominations are open until the 31st of August, so if you have a great experience with a woman in business, why not celebrate that and nominate them 🙂

3. APPLICATIONS – OPTIONAL
This step is completely optional. Applications will open in early July, you will be notified at this email address as soon as they open up. They will close on September 10th at midnight. You will be sent a form to complete, ensure that you choose the right link, as there will be a separate form for each category.
There is a fee to submit your application, this goes directly towards all the costs associated with running the SAW Awards (admin, software, judging time etc). There is NO requirement to complete an application just because you have been nominated, it is entirely up to you if you want to put yourself forward. We know it can be nervewracking but feedback from many has been just how beneficial the application process alone has been, reflection is powerful to realise how far we have come!
So to apply you can either:
1. Pay a one-off Application Fee of $88 (incl GST). Paid at time of completing your Application. OR
2. Become an SA Woman member (from $99 incl GST) and access all the additional benefits being a member brings. Such as being part of our incredibly supportive community of women in business from all over SA, receive opportunities to showcase your business, be able to load your listing to our directory and access support from our team and your fellow SA Woman members. All members receive ONE application included as part of their membership. You can find out more about SA Woman and how to become a member at www.sawoman.com.au/join.
3. JUDGING
Applications will be read (yes we read every single one!!) and judged by our team. Each category will be shortlisted and finalists chosen. The timeframe is dependent upon number of applications received, but we will keep you posted through the whole journey.
Finalists will be announced on facebook, instagram and our social media channels. Peoples Choice will open at the same time.
Please note: The judging panel is made up mostly of volunteers and are kept anonymous.
4. WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Winners will be celebrated and announced at our Awards Gala Dinner on the 12th of November. Get your fave outfit and your dancing shoes ready! Tickets will be available mid-year.
FAQ’s
How are Finalists and Winners determined?
Applications will be received, reviewed by the HQ team at SA Woman and finalists selected. There will be 3 finalists in each category.
A public vote will then be held which will determine the People’s Choice Recipient. A combination of factors will be included for judging – depth and content of your application, financials provided (in certain categories), the feedback received on your nomination and behind the scenes online reviews of your business (eg. social media checks). You may also be contacted by SA Woman for further information if required, so please keep an eye on your emails. It is very important you read the questions carefully.
Is there a cost to put in an application?
As you can imagine, the hours that go into coordinating, reviewing, judging and showcasing your businesses is considerable. Last year so many weekends and late nights spent bringing the awards to life. As much as we would love to do this for free, we have families to support and SA Woman has overheads to pay. We hope you understand, and if it’s not for you this year – that is ok! If you would like further clarification, please feel free to email carly@sawoman.com.au.

It is expected that all applicants and members uphold the SA Woman Code of Conduct. You can read that HERE.
If you are unable to afford to apply, we do sometimes have pay it forward opportunities, please reach out and we can register your details if any of those become available.
Can I apply for a different category to what I have been nominated?
Yes. If you feel that you better fit another category that is ok to do so. And you are also welcome to apply for additional categories (but please don’t copy and paste!).
Do I need to attend the Awards Dinner to be a winner/finalist?
No. While we would really love you to come along, this is not a criteria in selecting winners. Each year we have had winners in regional SA who have been unable to attend, we have called them to prior to their category going live, to let them know of their win.
