Meet Naome Burdon from Argyle Travel & Cruise


Argyle Travel and Cruise is a bespoke travel service, established by owner/manager, Naome Burdon, on 1 September 2000. In 2021, we are celebrating 21 years of the same successful ownership and management.

With our main office located just out of Naracoorte, we also regularly visit both Millicent and Kingston, servicing the lower and upper South East. Our additional office based in Wellington (also SA) further services all of the Southern Vales, Coorong and Lakes, Riverland and the Fleurieu Peninsula.     Our favourite place in SA would be our long-time home; the Limestone Coast, followed closely by the Riverland that offers up a quite contrasting experience of extra sunshine and the beautiful River Murray.

    The most common misconception about travel agents is that we cost more.

    Meet Holly Velardo from Hollyday Travel


    I’m Holly Velardo and I started HollyDay Travel in 2018 when I was on maternity leave with my twins. I had previously worked for 17 years as a Travel Agent. With my passion for the industry and love for my clients, I just knew I had to open my own Agency.

    I have over 20 years experience in the Travel Industry providing tailor made itineraries for you, with the best possible service and expert advice.

    It is all about personalisation, every detail is thought through.

    // Where is your favourite place to travel to in SA?

    I absolutely love the beach and summer and my favourite place to visit is anywhere along the coastline from Christies Beach to Second Valley.

    There are some great accommodation options and along this coastline and so many amazing cafes, restaurants and exploring you can do as a family.

    Long leisurely beach walks, climbing hills, reef diving and its close to McLaren vale if you feel like some wine tasting.


    // What Travel Agent myths do you want to bust?

    One of the hardest things about being a travel agent during Covid is that we have been working for no money. It has been a requirement that we refund all clients bookings in full including any commission we have made.

    There is a misconception that travel agents are charging fees and not refunding clients moneys but these fees are coming from the suppliers we deal with.

    Every time there is a snap border closure or a lockdown everything we have worked for has to be cancelled, changed or rebooked and we do all of this for nothing.

    I am so grateful I have the most amazing clients, and I am always there for them no matter what. I want to ensure that their trip has the least interruptions and I have provided every possible bit of help.

    Meet Kylie Duncan-Tiver and Natasha Pirone from MTA Mobile Travel Agents

    // Where is your favourite place to travel to in SA?

    Natasha’s favourite place in SA to visit is Port Lincoln, which was a real surprise packet for me on my recent trip there.

    Kylie likes The Flinders Ranges though which hold a special place in her heart  but also anywhere with wineries. 😉.

    But to be honest, as a travel advisor, that is a given. (Travel advisors don’t have a drinking problem. Wineries have a travel advisor problem.)


    // What Travel Agent myths do you want to bust?

    The biggest myths about us and what we do is that:

    1 – We cost more.

    2 – People can do what we do themselves online.

    Both FALSE!

    What we book should not cost anymore, in fact wholesale rates are cheaper and have more inclusions. Which equals more VALUE!

    We have years of education and experience behind every recommendation that we make, not a computer generated algorithm.

    You may pay an ‘advisory fee’ to your consultant when you begin working together, but this is to cover the time that we spend working on your booking to get it just right.

    And for this you will also get SERVICE before, during and after every trip.
