Tell us a bit about you
Naturopath | Nutritionist | Herbalist | Wellness Advocate | Public Speaker and Presenter
Ali Palmer is a qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist with a genuine passion for helping people better understand their bodies and take a more proactive approach to their health.
Her journey into natural medicine began from a very personal place. After navigating significant health challenges within her own family, Ali was driven to understand the *why* behind illness rather than simply managing symptoms. This ultimately led her to study naturopathy, nutrition and herbal medicine and develop a strong interest in complex and chronic health conditions.
Today, Ali works with clients through O2 Wellness, supporting people both in person in the Adelaide Hills and online. She has a particular interest in thyroid and adrenal health, female hormones, fatigue, gut health, autoimmune conditions, nutritional medicine and complex health presentations.
Ali’s approach is centred around looking at the whole person. She considers genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, stress and other contributing factors to help uncover what may be driving a person’s symptoms.
Where appropriate, she incorporates functional and pathology testing alongside a detailed assessment of symptoms, health history, diet and lifestyle to build a more complete picture of a client’s health.
Ali is also a Reiki Master and certified breathwork practitioner and has a strong interest in the relationship between stress, the nervous system and physical wellbeing. She co-founded Blue Lime Collective, which delivers wellness retreats, workshops and corporate wellness experiences designed to give people practical ways to reconnect, reset and nurture themselves.
Alongside her work in health and wellness, Ali has more than 28 years’ experience in business, marketing and entrepreneurship and is a Certified Practising Marketer. This combination of business and wellness gives her a unique understanding of the pressures faced by busy women juggling careers, businesses, families and their own health.
At the heart of Ali’s work is a simple philosophy: **understand the root cause, support the whole person and give people the knowledge they need to become active participants in their own wellbeing.
Ali is a member of the Complementary Medicine Association.
Tell us a bit about your business:
O2 Wellness is a naturopathic and nutritional health practice founded by Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist Ali Palmer.
Based in the Adelaide Hills and working with clients both locally and online, O2 Wellness takes a personalised, whole-person approach to health. Rather than simply focusing on individual symptoms, the aim is to understand what may be happening beneath the surface and identify the factors contributing to ongoing health concerns.
O2 Wellness has a particular focus on thyroid and adrenal health, female hormones, fatigue, gut health, autoimmune conditions, stress and complex or chronic health concerns.
Ali combines naturopathy, nutritional medicine and herbal medicine with pathology and functional testing where appropriate. Genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, stress and nervous system health are all considered when developing an individual approach for each client.
Education is also an important part of O2 Wellness. Ali believes people should understand their own health, their test results and the reasons behind recommendations rather than simply being told what to do.
With face-to-face consultations available in the Adelaide Hills and online consultations available across Australia and internationally, O2 Wellness provides a supportive and individualised approach for people wanting to better understand their health and make meaningful, sustainable changes.
O2 Wellness is about looking beyond the symptoms, getting the full picture and helping people feel empowered in their own health journey.

Let’s get to know you a little more.
What has been a lesson you learnt in your career or business that has stayed with you?
The most important lesson I’ve learnt in my career didn’t come from business, a qualification or a textbook. It came from being a mum and learning what it means to keep going when giving up simply isn’t an option.
I’ve been in business for more than 28 years, and there have been plenty of challenges, changes of direction and moments that have tested me. But my greatest lessons in perseverance have come through the health journeys of my children.
My son was born with significant health issues and we were given very little hope by mainstream medicine. I refused to accept that there was nothing more we could do. I kept searching, questioning and learning, and that journey ultimately led me to study naturopathy, nutrition and herbal medicine.
Years later, that perseverance was tested again when my daughter became seriously ill with Lyme disease. Once again, we were faced with uncertainty, setbacks and a long road to finding answers. I drew on everything I had learnt, continued researching and advocating for her health, and today she is happy and healthy.
Those experiences changed not only the direction of my career, but also the person I became.
They taught me to keep asking questions, to look beyond the obvious and, most importantly, never to give up simply because the road ahead is difficult.
That philosophy has stayed with me through business, motherhood, health and personal challenges. Life rarely follows the path we expect, and sometimes it will test us in ways we could never have prepared for.
I’ve learnt that perseverance isn’t about never falling apart. It’s about finding the strength to put yourself back together and keep moving forward. Watching both of my children overcome enormous health challenges has taught me that even when the path seems impossible, I will keep searching for another way through. Some of the hardest chapters of my life have ultimately become the reason I do what I do today – and the source of a strength I never knew I had.
What is your favourite place in South Australia to visit?

Why is being part of SA Woman important to you?
Being part of SA Woman is important to me because I genuinely believe in the power of women supporting women.
After more than 28 years in business, I’ve learnt that success isn’t just about what you know or what you achieve. It’s also about the people you surround yourself with, the relationships you build and having a community that understands both the rewards and the challenges that come with being a woman in business.
I love connecting with women from different industries, hearing their stories, sharing knowledge and learning from their experiences. I also believe that when we are open about the challenges as well as the successes, we create stronger and more meaningful connections.
At this stage of my life and career, connection feels more important than ever. I want to surround myself with women who inspire, encourage and challenge each other, while also having the opportunity to use my own experience in business, marketing and wellness to support others.
For me, SA Woman represents more than networking. It’s about community, collaboration and creating a space where women can champion each other – because I truly believe we are stronger when we grow together.
What is a quote or mantra you live by?
“There is always a way forward.”
This is something I’ve come to believe deeply through both my personal and professional life. I’ve faced times when the road ahead wasn’t clear – through my children’s health challenges, business, relationships and life in general – but I’ve learnt that even when you can’t see the entire path, you can still take the next step.
I believe in asking questions, trusting my instincts, being willing to change direction and, above all, not giving up.
Sometimes the way forward isn’t the path you originally planned – and sometimes it leads you somewhere even more meaningful.
