Kate Holland – KTB Communications

Kate Holland – KTB Communications

My name is Kate Holland, and I run KTB Communications…

I’m a freelance writer, mixed-media content producer and strategic storyteller. My specialty is finding and articulating the human hook. (20+ years as an ABC radio producer helped hone that skill.)

I help shape communication that moves people to act — whether that’s to laugh, learn more, donate, engage, partner, sign up, book an interview, use a service, share or advocate. Different contexts, same principle: make it engaging enough to matter.

As an insatiably curious being, I enjoy working across a variety of industries and with all sorts of people. However, purpose-led organisations and creatives are my favourites, and we tend to find each other.

My extensive media experience and contact list are a huge bonus for those who want help to raise their profile.

One of my reasons for leaving the ABC was to write more, but I’m as addicted to audio as ever. It’s a powerful medium. I produce and host a podcast for one company and have plans for more – inside and outside the service genre.

When I’m not working for others, I’m pitching feature stories of my own and trying to advance some side projects. These include an audio series for kids, a doco on creativity and a feature film.

With around 90% of my work coming from returning customers, I can confidently claim the badge of a relationship-based business.
