Tell us a bit about you
Hi, I’m Jacqui, founder of Safe Hands SA, where we make First Aid, CPR, and workplace safety training practical, relevant, and (dare I say it) actually enjoyable. I’m based in Adelaide and work with businesses, schools, and community groups across SA to build confident responders and stronger compliance.
I believe first aid should never be just a tick-box; it’s about knowing what to do when it counts. I’m also passionate about supporting other small businesses—whether it’s sharing resources, booking local, or cheering loudly from the sidelines.
Tell us a bit about your business or organisation/role:
Safe Hands SA delivers nationally recognised First Aid, CPR, Low Voltage Rescue, Manual Handling, and Mental Health training. We offer face-to-face training at workplaces, public venues, and regional locations across SA. I work closely with industries like construction, electrical, aged care, disability, education, and more, tailoring training so it makes sense for each workplace. We’re a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)- endorsed provider and proudly South Australian owned. I’m proud to say the business has grown through word of mouth and community support, and we continue to help more workplaces feel prepared, safe, and confident every week.

Let’s get to know you a little more.
What has been a lesson you learnt in your career or business that has stayed with you?
You can rebuild and grow something even stronger after things fall apart. It’s not always easy, and it’s not always what you planned or wanted, but it can still become something deeply meaningful. I’ve learnt that trusting yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable, is key. I went from losing a business partner and starting over to running a thriving business that reflects my values, strengths, and integrity.
What is your favourite place in South Australia to visit?
I love travelling to regional areas—there’s something special about connecting with different communities across the state. The Flinders Ranges holds a piece of my heart, and I’ll never say no to a weekend in one of our beautiful wine regions.
Why is being part of SA Woman important to you?
Being part of SA Woman gave me connection and encouragement at a time when I really needed it. There’s something powerful about being surrounded by women who truly want to see each other succeed. It’s more than networking, it’s community. And it’s one of the many ways I can support other local women in business, which I care deeply about.
What is a quote or mantra you live by?
Start before you’re ready. And back yourself—always.
Why? Because if I’d waited to feel 100% ready, Safe Hands SA wouldn’t exist. Rebuilding my business after a sudden change forced me to take a leap, and I had to back myself, even when I wasn’t sure how things would turn out. That mindset has helped me grow, take opportunities, and stay true to my values through it all.
