Tell us a bit about you:
I’m a Family-orientated 50+ year old. I’ve been married for 32 years and have 2 amazing adult children. We moved every 3 – 4 years after we were married following Andrew’s work. We eventually settled in the hills when the kids were 7 & 10. Recently moving to the Fleurieu Peninsula, where we plan to retire in a few years.
We love getting away in our van, kayaking, walking with and without our furbaby – Myla, e-biking and spending time with family and friends. We love exploring SA, whether on day trips or longer trips in the van.
Administration has been part of my life since year 10, when I attended Muirden Business College, graduating with a Secretarial Diploma at the end of year 12. Apart from time off having babies and finding work where I could in some of the smaller towns we lived in, I have worked in Admin/Finance for the majority of my working life.
Tell us a bit about your business or organisation/role:
Beyond Admin VA (BAVA) came about after our kids left home, and I was looking for MY passion, MY why!
I’d tried a few different ventures over the years but never quite found the right fit. I’ve always loved helping others but didn’t know how to make that a side hustle working from home. With a ‘little shove’ from family and friends, I dove a little deeper and finally worked out that I was bloody good at the career path I had chosen many, many years ago. So why not merge my passion to help others and use the skills and experience I have gained in admin and finance to help small business owners with the admin tasks they hate so that they can get back to what they do best, their passion! their why!
In April 2022 I started the process of finding out how I could start working from home doing what I love. I completed 2 Virtual Assistant online courses and gained valuable insight into the world of VAs from both. In July 2022. with the support of my family and friends, I launched BAVA, and in March this year, I quit my job, moved to the Fleurieu Peninsula and am now working the hours I want in my remote admin business.
